Role Overview:

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based medical professional responsible for maintaining scientific expertise and supporting strategic direction through engagement with scientific experts. The MSL acts as a bridge between Lilly and the scientific community, gathering insights to help inform Lilly’s research and medical strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Scientific Expertise & Communication:

    • Continuously learn and maintain high-level expertise in the therapeutic areas they represent.

    • Answer scientific questions and deliver unbiased, up-to-date, medical and scientific knowledge.

  2. Customer Engagement:

    • Spend significant time engaging with scientific experts to understand their needs and provide relevant scientific information.

    • Facilitate collaboration between Lilly resources and external experts, identifying potential research or partnership opportunities.

  3. Strategic Leadership & Vision:

    • Synthesize complex data and communicate insights to Lilly’s internal teams to inform strategy.

    • Make decisions independently and contribute to medical planning and affiliate strategies.

  4. Territory Ownership:

    • Develop and implement strategic plans for the assigned territory.

    • Ensure compliance with internal and external requirements, demonstrating good judgment.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Required Qualifications:

    • Advanced degree in health sciences (PharmD, MD, or PhD in a medically related field).

    • Previous experience in Medical Science Liaison or field-based roles is highly desirable.

    • Strong professional networking skills and ability to service complex customer information needs.

  • Desired Skills:

    • Ability to travel up to 80% within the assigned geography.

    • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), including proficiency in Arabic and English.

    • Excellent critical thinking, strategic, and analytical skills.

    • Self-directed with the ability to work independently in the field.
