Job Purpose:

The role focuses on analyzing market trends to develop effective sales strategies, strengthening relationships with key healthcare professionals, coaching team members in sales techniques, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration. The goal is to achieve designated sales and business growth targets while adhering to compliance guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Area Business Development:

  • Develop a comprehensive sales plan aligned with affiliate guidelines and annual targets.
  • Drive sales target planning by hospital and customer, collaborating with the RSM to allocate targets to team members.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the local and national health economy, identifying new market opportunities.
  • Review and adjust district business plans based on performance, resource availability, and market changes.

Performance Metrics:

  • Sales target achievement for self and team
  • Compliance adherence

2. Sales Rep Development:

  • Source and select talented team members, providing a thorough onboarding experience.
  • Collaborate with team members to establish individual development plans focused on career goals and strengths.
  • Coach team members in various sales skills, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
  • Utilize the Lilly Coaching Model to guide coaching efforts and monitor customer satisfaction metrics.

Performance Metrics:

  • Timely hiring and retention rates
  • Adherence to compliance guidelines

3. Customer Relationship Management:

  • Assign Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement responsibilities and plan engagement activities with marketing support.
  • Foster strong relationships with key customers and gather feedback to enhance engagement effectiveness.
  • Act as a cross-functional point of contact, sharing market insights with relevant internal teams.

Performance Metrics:

  • KOL feedback and participation in planned programs

4. Reporting and Analysis:

  • Review reports and action plans, validating sales and stock statements.
  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly sales trackers, highlighting performance during business reviews.

Performance Metrics:

  • Timeliness and accuracy of report submissions

Key Stakeholders:

Doctors, paramedical staff, hospital purchase in-charges, retailers, stockists, and internal departments including HR, Marketing, and Medical.

Core Capabilities/Skills:

  • Strong communication and presentation abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of therapeutic areas and product segments
  • Analytical and people management skills
  • Effective time management and delegation capabilities
  • Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 4-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales.
  • At least 2 years of sales leadership experience is essential.
