Internship Program Overview:
The OncoImmuno Summer Intern Program is a comprehensive 3-month full-time opportunity, running from May 12 - August 15, 2025, for undergraduate and graduate students interested in oncology and immunology. Interns will work in Translational Research (TR), contributing to the development of novel therapeutics and precision medicine strategies in cancer and immunological diseases. Interns will gain hands-on experience in drug development and disease biology, with a focus on understanding disease mechanisms, identifying drug targets, and exploring biomarkers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experimental design and execution, particularly in the context of drug discovery and target validation.
  • Data collection and hypothesis-driven analysis, utilizing multiomics datasets (e.g., genetics, proteomics, transcriptomics).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and shadow key functional roles for learning opportunities.
  • Assist with research and analysis related to biomarker development, clinical studies, and patient stratification.
  • Help interpret and report research results, providing oral and written documentation of findings.
  • Present findings at the organization-wide research symposium, including abstract/poster preparation.
  • Participate in leadership opportunities and contribute to team-driven initiatives.
  • Assist in computational biology tasks using platforms like R, Python, and other coding-based tools.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited University or College program.
  • Undergraduate students must have completed at least four semesters.
  • Pursuing a degree in biology, computational biology, cell/molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, immunology, or precision medicine.
  • Graduate students must be pursuing a master’s or PhD in a related field.
  • Passionate about drug development and clinical research with strong interest in oncology or immunology.
  • Proven leadership and participation in campus or service programs.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Fluent in written and spoken English with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with coding and data analysis platforms (R, Python, etc.).

Preferred:

  • Experience in oncology/immuno-oncology, precision medicine, or related technologies.
  • Knowledge of biomarker strategies or clinical trials.
