Position: Inpatient Remote Medical Coder - Facility Coding

Job Summary: As a Certified Inpatient Medical Coder at LexiCode, you will join a team of experts dedicated to delivering exceptional coding services. Your primary role will be to accurately assign diagnostic and procedural codes to inpatient medical records, ensuring adherence to coding guidelines and regulations.

Essential Responsibilities:

Thoroughly review and analyze inpatient medical records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures.
Accurately assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes to reflect clinical documentation.
Ensure the integrity and precision of coded data.
Stay updated on evolving coding guidelines, regulations, and industry best practices.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to clarify documentation and gather additional information as needed.
Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives to maintain high coding accuracy standards.
Maintain optimal productivity while meeting coding quality and efficiency benchmarks.
Uphold strict confidentiality and privacy standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

AHIMA credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P; or AAPC credentials: CPC, COC, or CIC.
At least 1 year of experience in facility inpatient coding.
Proficiency in ICD-10-CM and PCS coding systems with comprehensive knowledge of guidelines and conventions.
Competence in using coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex medical documentation.
Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.
Strong organizational and time management abilities to meet coding deadlines.

Pay Disclosure: The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00 per hour. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonus opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package are included.
