Inpatient Remote Medical Coder - Facility Coding

Job Summary

As a Certified Inpatient Medical Coder with LexiCode, you will be a vital part of our team, providing exceptional coding services to our clients. Your primary role will involve assigning diagnostic and procedural codes to inpatient medical records, ensuring adherence to coding guidelines and regulations.

Essential Responsibilities

Review and analyze inpatient medical records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures.
Accurately assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes based on clinical documentation.
Maintain data integrity and precision.
Stay updated with evolving coding guidelines, regulations, and industry best practices.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify documentation and gather additional information.
Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives.
Maintain productivity levels while meeting coding quality and efficiency standards.
Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

AHIMA credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P; or AAPC credentials: CPC, COC, or CIC.
At least 1 year of experience in facility inpatient coding.
Proficiency in ICD-10-CM and PCS coding systems with comprehensive guideline knowledge.
Competence with coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex medical documentation.
Detail-oriented with exceptional communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Pay Disclosure

The pay range for this position is $28.00 to $40.00 per hour. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonus opportunities are also available as part of the compensation package, alongside a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits, based on the position.
