Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform coding of medical records for indexing, contributing to hospital statistics, regional and government planning, and accurate reimbursement.

  • Code inpatient and outpatient records and identify diagnoses and procedures according to the coding schedule.

  • Accurately assign ICD-10 and/or CPT-4 codes, maintaining a minimum of 95% accuracy in code choice and sequencing.

  • Consistently identify and abstract records with accuracy.

  • Demonstrate time awareness, meeting deadlines, and minimizing non-essential interruptions.

  • Meet departmental productivity standards for coding and record entry.

  • Participate in coding meetings and educational conferences to enhance coding skills.

  • Willingness to work additional or flexible hours when needed.

  • Maintain good rapport and cooperative working relationships with departmental and hospital staff.

  • Attend conference calls as necessary to discuss coding-related information.

  • Comply with employment contract terms, company policies, and procedures, including any changes due to business needs.


Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate (Degree).

  • Certified Fresher or experienced in medical coding or other relevant fields.

  • For candidates with medical coding experience:

    • G23 (0 to 1 year of experience).

  • Must be a certified coder through AAPC or AHIMA.

    • Acceptable certifications include CPC, CCS, CIC, or COC.

  • Candidates must provide proof of valid certification during the interview or offer process.
