Position Overview

The ILD Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) plays a pivotal role in advancing Boehringer Ingelheim's efforts in interstitial lung disease (ILD). This position involves providing up-to-date, evidence-based scientific information to Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and engaging with External Experts (EEs) to build advocacy and gather actionable insights for brand strategy development.

As a core member of the Medical Affairs team, the ILD MSL collaborates closely with cross-functional brand teams to execute medical strategies and activities aligned with organizational objectives.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

Engagement & Advocacy

  • Build and maintain strong scientific relationships with External Experts (EEs) through meaningful exchanges and communications.

  • Provide HCPs with accurate, relevant, and timely scientific information regarding Boehringer Ingelheim products and their appropriate use.

  • Proactively gather feedback and insights from EEs and HCPs to inform internal decision-making, including perception tracking and competitor analysis.

Medical Strategy Execution

  • Support the development and implementation of medical strategies, including advocacy-building initiatives.

  • Plan and execute medical activities such as Scientific Expert Meetings (SEM), advisory boards, and consultations, aligned with the annual plan.

  • Document scientific interactions with HCPs and share insights with the brand team to optimize strategies.

Evidence Generation

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of the evidence generation plan to support medical and brand objectives.

Collaboration

  • Work cross-functionally with brand teams and internal stakeholders to align scientific initiatives with broader organizational goals.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Educational Background: Degree in a relevant field such as Science, Biology, Pharmacy, Medicine, or Nursing.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 1–2 years of prior experience as an MSL (preferred).

    • Experience in the respiratory field or product launches is highly desirable.

  • Skills:

    • Ability to establish and maintain strong scientific relationships with EEs.

    • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

    • Demonstrated expertise and continuous learning within the therapeutic area.
