Position Overview
The Human Resources Director for the US manufacturing facility will be responsible for administering human resources programs and policies that reflect the organization’s global mission and values. This role is key to supporting company goals and achieving objectives, with a focus on recruitment, employee relations, HRIS, payroll, benefits, and compliance with employment laws. The HR Director will be a strategic partner, collaborating with employees, managers, global HR and operations teams, third-party resources, and site leadership to foster a high-performance culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Operations: Provide support for onboarding, offboarding, payroll and benefits administration, 401k compliance, leave administration, state registrations, personnel files, employment verifications, audits, and coordination of training activities.
  • Talent Acquisition & Management: Oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of talent. Implement strategies to attract and retain skilled employees in the competitive biotech/biologics sector. Support talent development programs, including training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Employee Relations & Engagement: Promote a positive work environment that fosters engagement and collaboration. Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on employee relations, conflict resolution, and policy application. Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • HR Compliance & Policy Administration: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as industry-specific regulations for biologics manufacturing. Implement and monitor HR policies and programs aligned with corporate standards and local operational needs.
  • Change Management: Lead change management efforts related to site expansions, organizational restructuring, or new systems. Ensure clear communication and support during transitions.
  • HR Metrics & Reporting: Analyze HR metrics such as turnover, retention, and employee satisfaction to guide decisions and continuous improvement. Provide regular reports to corporate HR on HR-related insights.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in an HR operations role in a manufacturing or biotech/biopharma environment. Experience in biologics or pharmaceutical manufacturing is strongly preferred.
  • Certifications: PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.
  • Skills: Proven expertise in employee relations, full-cycle recruiting, payroll and benefits administration, compliance, and organizational change management. Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Communication: Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
