About the Department:

The Global Medical Affairs (GMA) unit at Novo Nordisk is based out of Global Business Services (GBS) in Bangalore, India, and serves as an extension of the team at our headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark. This dynamic department is responsible for strategic medical affairs, including scientific communication, evidence generation, KOL engagement, publication planning, and internal medical guidance. The team works cross-functionally with global teams to execute the medical affairs strategy for Novo Nordisk's products in therapeutic areas such as diabetes, obesity, and cardiometabolic health.


The Position:

As a Global Medical Advisor, you will be a key player in the Diabetes therapy area, specifically focusing on GLP-1RA and insulin products. Your role will involve driving the scientific and medical strategy for Novo Nordisk’s diabetes portfolio, ensuring timely and credible building of scientific knowledge. You will be responsible for collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders, including key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals (HCPs), while maintaining strong relationships to support product development and commercialization.

Your tasks will include:

  • Leading the medical strategy for the allocated product(s) within the diabetes portfolio.
  • Collaborating with global and local teams, ensuring alignment of the global medical strategy with local initiatives.
  • Providing medical and scientific support for KOLs and HCPs.
  • Contributing to publication strategies, clinical research needs, and medical affairs initiatives.
  • Supporting pre-authorization medico-marketing activities, including promotional materials and updates.
  • Playing a key role in executing medical education events, advisory boards, and other scientific communication activities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: MD (M.B.B.S and MD) preferred.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of clinical and/or pharmaceutical development experience. Experience in clinical research and drug development is highly preferred.
  • Skills and Expertise:
    • Strong knowledge of pharma business, marketing practices, and regulatory guidance.
    • Experience in authoring scientific publications and presenting internationally.
    • Proficiency in scientific communication and medical writing.
    • Fluency in English (spoken and written).
    • Willingness to travel as needed.
