About the Department

Global Medical Affairs, GBS (GMA GBS) is an extension of the Global Medical Affairs unit in Headquarters (HQ) in Denmark, based out of Global Business Services (GBS), Bangalore, India. The Medical Affairs department includes a sub-team for portfolios and consists of highly motivated and experienced global medical advisors working cross-functionally with global teams and medical affairs directors based at HQ (Copenhagen, Denmark). This team is responsible for planning and executing the medical affairs strategy for products accountable by GMA-GBS and supporting the medical affairs strategic actions for the GLP-1 diabetes outcomes, currently managed by teams in Copenhagen, Denmark.

 

Our core competencies include:

  1. Communicating scientific and medical knowledge on our products to the external scientific community and across the organization.
  2. Evidence generation and support to clinical trial programs across phases and newer therapy areas.
  3. Publication planning and development of publications according to publication plans and strategy for each product/project in collaboration with the Global Publication Team.
  4. KOL engagement activities, including executing global Health Care Professionals strategy, global meetings/advisory boards, and supporting speakers in preparation for presentation of NN data at conferences and symposia.
  5. Organizing medical educational events, including symposiums at international congresses and stand-alone summits/virtual webinars.
  6. Providing internal medical guidance to support execution of global medical strategy, align cross-functional business activities, and develop promotional materials initiated by Global Marketing.

 

The Position

As a Global Medical Advisor, you will be part of the global medical affairs diabetes team at GBS Bangalore. You will be responsible for activities within the Diabetes therapy area (GLP-1RA and insulins), ensuring the timely, accurate, and credible building of scientific and medical knowledge. You will serve as the global specialist on the product/project within your responsibility towards internal and external customers. Your responsibilities will include the pre-authorization of medico-marketing activities, development of promotional material and API updates, and cascading the global medical affairs strategy and publication strategy to the countries supported by GBS Bangalore.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical and scientific support for key opinion leaders (KOLs) and other healthcare professionals (HCPs) on a product.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across functions (e.g., Global Development, Regulatory, Safety, Marketing, Corporate Communication, and affiliates).
  • Secure and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders to optimize product use and value.
  • Prepare and review Marketing Authorization Applications & Variations for medicinal products for filing in the EU.
  • Handle regulatory reviews of DMFs, batch records, specifications, and stability data to ensure compliance.
  • Execute and maintain submission delivery plans and content plans, and provide status updates to stakeholders.
  • Support the execution of global medical strategy and alignment of cross-functional business activities.
  • Participate in process/quality improvement initiatives and represent Novo Nordisk at sponsor marketing and technical meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs/Guidelines, ICH-GCP, and other applicable regulations.

 

Qualifications

  • Medical doctor with M.B.B.S and MD.
  • 1+ years of clinical and/or pharmaceutical development/business experience.
  • Experience with clinical medicine, clinical research, and drug development.
  • Understanding of pharma business, pharma marketing practices, and pharma law and guidance.
  • Authored publications, presented at international medical conferences, and written synopses and protocols (preferable).
  • Strong professionalism, dedication, and willingness to travel.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English.
