Position Overview

We are seeking a Freelance Health Care Business Writer to join our team on a remote basis. In this role, you will provide writing, drafting, and editing services for a variety of reports, proposals, and business documents. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining a Constellation Quality Health Style Manual, creating report templates, and supporting the Program Solutions division and consulting services.

Responsibilities

  • Document Development: Produce high-quality, scientifically accurate documents including Center of Innovation reports, Quality Reports, Request for Proposals (RFPs), grant proposals, and White Papers.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all documents undergo thorough quality checks before approval and that they are correctly routed during review and approval cycles.
  • Timeline Management: Manage project timelines effectively, communicating with team members to keep track of expectations, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Editing and Review: Review and edit documents authored by both internal and external contributors to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with company leadership, Program Solutions staff, Business Development teams, researchers, project managers, and other stakeholders to produce high-quality documents.
  • Issue Identification: Proactively identify and address potential issues that could impact project success, and coordinate with appropriate resources to resolve these issues.
  • Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with teams, manage draft version control, provide updates, solicit input from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and ensure adherence to deadlines.

You are proactive in evaluating risks, finding solutions, and collaborating with colleagues and leadership to deliver high-quality documents.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least five years of writing and editing experience, preferably in healthcare, quality, or Program Integrity settings.
  • Skills: Expertise in English grammar, syntax, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
  • Independence and Collaboration: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Content Expertise: Experience working with content experts to create or refine content.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and well-organized with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Analytical Ability: Strong technical/scientific skills to critically analyze, synthesize, and present complex information clearly and accurately.
  • Healthcare Knowledge (Preferred): Familiarity with healthcare systems, clinical research, and medical terminology.
