Position Overview

We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team at Fortrea Development. This role is critical to maintaining the financial health of assigned projects by supporting revenue recognition, ensuring accurate project financial records, and delivering insights to senior management. As a Financial Analyst, you will work closely with project teams to analyze financial data, identify potential risks, and contribute to the profitability of clinical projects.


Key Responsibilities

Revenue Recognition & Financial Management

  • Calculate and ensure accurate revenue recognition based on a Cost to Complete methodology for assigned projects.
  • Maintain and update project financial records in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Provide timely, detailed project information and margins to finance to support revenue recognition.
  • Work with project teams to proactively identify financial issues that could affect project results and profitability.
  • Assist with financial analysis and work with analysts to identify trends and issues in project financial performance.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Deliver clear and understandable project analysis for management as part of the Monthly Project Review Process.
  • Support project managers by providing insights and recommendations to maximize profitability.
  • Assist in the preparation of ad hoc analysis as required by project teams or senior management.
  • Respond to project managers, sponsors, and business development teams with timely, accurate financial information.

Project Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Enter and maintain budget information into financial accounting systems to ensure accurate project coding, invoicing, and accounting.
  • Monitor project performance, including revenue, gross profit, and forecasted hours, and assist in project close-outs and reconciliations.
  • Serve as a financial resource for project managers and team members, assisting with project budgeting and forecasting.

Auditing & Compliance

  • Provide audit support for both Internal and External audits, as well as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) audits.
  • Assist with answering audit queries and maintaining accurate documentation for compliance purposes.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or related roles within a corporate or CRO setting.
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles, project financial tracking, and cost forecasting.
  • Experience working with financial systems and project management tools.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CFA is a plus but not required.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, financial modeling).
  • Ability to communicate financial data clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
