Job Description

Position: Medical Content Development Specialist

In our integrated life sciences compliance team, you'll play a crucial role in supporting leading Biopharma and research companies around the world. This position reports directly to the Manager of Medical Content Development and involves close collaboration with various teams within EVERSANA's Compliance Business Unit, including Medical Information, Medical Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory, and Quality.

You'll support a diverse range of clients, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, digital therapeutics, and over-the-counter companies, with a particular focus on small and emerging firms. Your primary responsibility will be content development for client engagements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Manager of Medical Content Development in content creation and client engagements related to integrated commercialization deals and medical information or medical affairs consulting services.
  • Develop and write scientific content for Medical Affairs, Medical Information, and Medical Communications, including Scientific Response Documents (SRDs), FAQs, slide sets, abstracts, posters, educational materials, and more.
  • Manage the document development process from material gathering to content creation, and facilitate document reviews at medical, legal, and regulatory (MLR) meetings.
  • Use document management platforms like Veeva PromoMats / MedComms for content management, uploading, and annotation.
  • Conduct scientific data fact-checking for documents supporting MLR teams.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Medical Content Development on strategy, tactical execution, and communication approaches.
  • Participate in key client meetings and support the creation of thought leadership articles, newsletters, publications, congress presentations, and blogs.
  • Update SOPs, checklists, templates, style guides, and guidance documents as needed.
  • Mentor and coach team members, support hiring and onboarding processes.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and assist in evaluating and implementing new technologies to enhance operational efficiency and material quality.
  • Collaborate with other medical writers and creative teams across EVERSANA.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Expectations of the Job

  • Deliver outstanding client experiences and manage client engagements effectively.
  • Mentor and oversee direct reports and consultants, ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes of practice.
  • Work independently to develop high-quality, scientifically accurate, and compliant medical content.
  • Proactively address and manage quality issues, ensuring timely corrective actions.
  • Travel up to 10% (post-COVID).
  • Average work hours: 40+ hours/week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing medical content, particularly for new product launches.
  • Experience with publishing abstracts, posters, and manuscripts.
  • Experience across multiple therapeutic areas.
  • Familiarity with Veeva Vault MedComms / PromoMats.

Physical/Mental Demands and Working Environment

  • The role involves sitting or standing for extended periods (up to 90% of the shift), walking, talking, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. The work environment is usually moderately quiet with frequent interruptions and multiple demands.
