Job Description

We are seeking an Executive – Purchase to manage and oversee procurement processes within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing, vendor management, and inventory control. As an Executive – Purchase, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, goods, and services required for the smooth operation of the company. You will work closely with various departments, including finance and production, to ensure that purchasing activities align with business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Management: Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, vendor negotiations, order placement, and delivery coordination.

  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms of service to ensure cost efficiency and quality standards.

  • Inventory Control: Oversee inventory levels, ensuring that necessary stock is available without excess inventory. Monitor stock usage and ensure reordering when required.

  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all purchases, including invoices, contracts, and purchase orders. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all materials and goods purchased meet company quality standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Cost Management: Work to reduce procurement costs by identifying cost-saving opportunities, including bulk purchases and alternate suppliers.

  • Reporting: Generate regular reports related to purchasing activities, including procurement status, inventory levels, and expenditure. Present reports to management for review.

  • Collaboration: Coordinate with various departments such as finance, production, and quality control to ensure timely delivery and compliance with specifications.

  • Market Research: Continuously analyze market trends and supplier performance to ensure optimal purchasing decisions and to stay updated on industry best practices.


Candidate Requirements

  • Educational Background:

    • B.Com / M.Com in Commerce or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • 3–9 years of experience in a purchase or procurement role, with hands-on experience in vendor management, purchase order processing, and inventory control.

  • Skills and Knowledge:

    • Strong understanding of procurement processes and inventory management.

    • Knowledge of vendor negotiations, contract management, and purchasing strategies.

    • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with procurement software.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Good understanding of financial and accounting principles related to purchasing.

  • Communication Skills:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams.

  • Attention to Detail:

    • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in processing purchase orders, invoices, and other related documentation.

  • Time Management:

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
