Job Purpose:
The Executive Director, FP&A reports to the Vice President, FP&A and serves as a key member of the Finance Leadership team. This role acts as a strategic advisor to the heads of R&D and Technical Operations/Global Supply Chain, contributing to the development and achievement of organizational goals. The Executive Director will develop and implement advanced policies and processes across finance and operational functions. This position offers a senior finance professional the opportunity to bring operational excellence, problem-solving, and change management expertise to a high-growth, patient-focused organization.

Responsibilities:

Planning, Resource Allocation, and Optimization:

  • Act as a key advisor to the heads of R&D and Global Supply Chain/Technical Operations to drive results aligned with corporate strategy and goals.

  • Develop and implement forward-looking financial analytics to provide operational and strategic insights.

  • Maintain continuous communication with the CFO and VP of Finance regarding all critical issues.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual budget and forecast process for consolidated R&D and Global Supply Chain/Technical Operations functions.

  • Manage consolidation and reporting of quarterly financials.

  • Coordinate cross-functionally with the Commercial organization to ensure alignment on key product supply issues.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and procedures.

  • Participate in or lead special projects as assigned.

Team Development and Leadership:

  • Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the R&D and Global Supply Chain/Technical Operations FP&A teams.

  • Promote a culture of high performance, accountability, continuous improvement, and commitment to quality.

  • Mentor and develop staff, evolving their mindsets to a more strategic and storytelling-focused level.

  • Lead by example and foster effective cross-functional communication.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Minimum of a BS degree or equivalent; MBA preferred.

Experience:

  • At least 8 years of experience in key financial leadership roles, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biopharma industry.

  • Direct experience supporting senior R&D executives.

  • Strong background in financial planning, accounting, cost accounting, R&D, and technical operations.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical, abstract reasoning, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to operate effectively in both tactical and strategic capacities.

Pay Range:

  • In the U.S., the hiring pay range for fully qualified candidates is $304,000 - $336,000 per year.

  • Final compensation may vary based on internal equity, geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
