Job Description:
The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for providing daily patient care, including processing prescriptions, inspecting completed prescriptions, counseling patients, and conducting Drug Use Reviews (DUR). The pharmacist will monitor patient adherence, assess therapy outcomes, and ensure adherence to medication regimens.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient care and education, including comprehensive counseling and medication therapy evaluation.
  • Conduct drug use reviews (prospective and concurrent) and report adverse drug events.
  • Monitor patient adherence and persistence with prescribed therapies.
  • Process and verify patient prescriptions, ensuring accuracy.
  • Educate patients to improve adherence to pharmacotherapy regimens.
  • Evaluate lab values and patient history, including medications, allergies, and disease states.
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians.
  • Ensure adherence to REMS and other documentation standards.
  • Manage and reconcile patient adverse events.
  • Resolve and document after-hours inquiries from patients and prescribers.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with coworkers, patients, and clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • PharmD and B.S. Rph with at least 2 years of pharmacy practice experience.
  • Current, unrestricted Missouri pharmacist license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic phone system operation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of pharmacy practice experience, particularly in specialty pharmacy or home infusion.
  • Pharmacy residency or management experience is a plus.
  • BCPS, MTM, or multi-state pharmacist licensure.
  • Familiarity with multiple Patient Management and Dispensing Systems.

Physical/Mental Demands and Working Environment:

  • Frequent standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods (up to 90% of the shift). Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • A moderately quiet work environment with frequent interruptions and multiple demands.
  • The hybrid work model will be available after training.
