Role Overview:
As the Director of Pharmacovigilance, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our processes and delivering quality outcomes. You’ll lead a team of managers and maintain client relationships to ensure successful project execution, all while driving business value and meeting client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relations:

  • Uphold ICON's core values of People, Clients, and Performance.
  • Offer strategic leadership and consultancy to clients on Pharmacovigilance systems, including gap analyses, process development, and inspection readiness.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of client projects with both strategic and tactical insights.
  • Participate in Steering/Executive Committees, addressing escalated issues as necessary.
  • Oversee standalone safety projects, ensuring governance, timelines, and budget adherence.
  • Keep senior management informed about project or staffing risks, developing proactive solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong client partnerships to ensure repeat business through high-quality project delivery.

Business Development:

  • Support project proposal development as needed.
  • Collaborate on hiring strategies and objectives, forecasting staffing needs.
  • Monitor department profitability and set operational goals and metrics.
  • Lead global operational functions within end-to-end Pharmacovigilance.
  • Represent ICON at industry meetings and assist in corporate strategy initiatives.
  • Analyze performance metrics and staffing, reporting to senior management.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance project efficiency and global Pharmacovigilance operations.

People Leadership:

  • Collaborate with corporate recruiting to ensure effective hiring.
  • Provide line management and mentorship to Pharmacovigilance staff.
  • Ensure resource availability to meet corporate and project objectives.
  • Oversee staff training for optimal performance and compliance.
  • Facilitate career development, feedback, and retention strategies.
