Role Overview:
We are currently seeking a Development Scientist I to join our Research & Development (R&D) team in Flow Cytometry. This role will focus on developing innovative flow cytometry products to enhance immunophenotyping panels, particularly for Leukemia and Lymphoma diagnostics. As a Development Scientist I, you will contribute to feasibility studies, the development of analytical methods, and protocols for testing multicolor panels. You will also play a key role in troubleshooting issues, performing data analysis, and ensuring compliance with GMP manufacturing processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Research & Development:

    • Participate in the design and development of flow cytometry assays, including immunophenotyping panels for Leukemia and Lymphoma.
    • Conduct feasibility studies, data collection, and system application development.
    • Support the optimization and validation of multicolor flow cytometry assays, focusing on accuracy, sensitivity, and reproducibility.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:

    • Analyze and interpret experimental data, using independent judgment to solve problems.
    • Troubleshoot assay performance issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
    • Prepare high-quality technical presentations, documents, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Compliance & Quality Control:

    • Adhere to strict quality standards and regulatory guidelines in all aspects of research, development, and product testing.
    • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as company policies related to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
  • Collaboration & Communication:

    • Regularly communicate the status of experiments and progress to the supervisor or technical lead.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
    • Provide updates to relevant functions regarding inventory requirements and project needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Immunology, Cell Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience:

    • 3-5 years of relevant experience in Flow Cytometry, Immunophenotyping, or related assay development techniques in an industrial or clinical setting.
    • Hands-on experience with flow cytometry sample preparation, processing, acquisition, data analysis, and interpretation.
    • Familiarity with assay optimization and technology transfer in a GMP manufacturing environment is highly advantageous.
  • Skills:

    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
    • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a research-driven environment.
