Role Overview: As a Clinical Specialist Consultant, you will review scales administered by raters in clinical trials to ensure that assessments are performed in a standardized manner, guaranteeing data reliability. You will evaluate the quality of assessments, provide guidance on assessment methodology, scoring techniques, and offer live interaction with raters. Additionally, you will participate in functional assessments of rater performance and assist with communication efforts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Rater Interaction & Assessment Review:

    • Review and evaluate the quality of clinical assessments to ensure they adhere to standardized practices.
    • Interact live with raters to discuss assessment methodology, scoring techniques, and provide guidance as needed.
  • Training & Calibration:

    • Participate in all training, orientation, and calibration activities related to the clinical trial.
    • Prepare for discussions with raters, ensuring relevant issues and scale items are clear and understood.
  • Documentation & Task Management:

    • Complete all assigned tasks and interactions with raters as per the scheduled timelines.
    • Ensure timely submission of all necessary documentation associated with your tasks.
  • Support for Clinical Research:

    • Assist with functional assessments of rater performance, including mock interviews.
    • Help prepare and disseminate communications related to the clinical trial.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Master's degree (MA/MS) in Psychology, Counseling, Psychiatric Nursing, Social Work, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience administering psychiatric assessments, rating scales, or structured clinical interviews.
    • At least 3 years of clinical experience with psychiatric populations.
    • Minimum of 3 years administering scales in clinical research trials (excluding graduate/doctoral research work).
    • CNS (Central Nervous System) trials experience preferred.
  • Skills:

    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally at all levels of personnel and clientele.
    • Excellent organizational, time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general computer systems.

Additional Requirements:

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Native language proficiency is needed for the specific clinical trial language.
