Job Description
As a Clinical Trial Assistant (CTA), you will support clinical trials by maintaining organized files, performing pharmacy technician duties, and communicating regularly with trial sites, coordinators, and patients. You will ensure adherence to clinical protocols and demonstrate good clinical practices, always following standard operating procedures. Clinical trials test new medications and medical devices for safety and efficacy, requiring significant record-keeping and compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring study activities to ensure compliance with protocols and local, federal, and institutional regulations.
  • Maintaining accurate study records, including case report forms, drug dispensation records, and regulatory forms.
  • Ordering necessary drugs or devices for study completion.
  • Participating in quality assurance audits and preparing for site visits.
  • Organizing space for study equipment and supplies.
  • Assisting in developing study protocols, including data collection procedures.
  • Dispensing medical devices or drugs, calculating dosages, and providing instructions to patients.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of prescriptions and supplies.
  • Managing inventory and ensuring medications and supplies are properly stocked.
  • Ensuring compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws.
  • Handling all other duties as assigned.

Job Expectations
You will be responsible for:

  • Organizing and archiving clinical trial documents.
  • Administering clinical trials in compliance with good clinical practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Providing logistical support for trials by entering subject and site orders and coordinating deliveries of study medications and supplies.
  • Picking and packing patient prescriptions, wholesale orders, and supplies.
  • Monitoring inventory integrity and expiration dates.
  • Managing third-party shipping labels for all orders.
  • Assisting with medication and supply inventories.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Associate’s degree in health sciences, biological sciences, or other life sciences.
  • Prior healthcare or life sciences experience (clinical trial experience preferred).
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a willingness to complete routine administrative tasks.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Current State of Missouri Pharmacy Technician Registration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Physical and Mental Demands
In the warehouse environment, you will be required to:

  • Walk or stand for a minimum of 80% of the shift.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform tasks in a busy environment, including bending, squatting, and stooping.

In the office environment, you will be:

  • Sitting or standing for long periods (up to 90% of the shift).
  • Occasionally lifting and moving up to 25 pounds.
