Position Overview

We are seeking a Patient Transporter to join our team at UM UCH. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and effectively transporting patients of all ages and conditions to and from various areas of the hospital. This is a full-time position with shifts from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, including every other weekend.


What You Will Do

  • Patient Transportation: Safely move patients of varying weights, ages, and medical conditions between beds, ambulatory devices, and treatment areas. Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Equipment Handling: Secure, return, and maintain necessary supplies and equipment required for patient transportation.
  • Team Collaboration: Work as part of a team to ensure smooth and efficient transport operations, collaborating with healthcare professionals to meet patient needs.
  • Environment Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment, contributing to a high standard of care in all areas.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to follow directions and respond to emergency situations.
    • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
    • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Full-Time: 40 hours per week.
  • Shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with every other weekend required.
