Job Title: Clinical Research Nurse

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the readiness of the station for blood and urine collection during screening and studies.
  • Collect bio samples for the screening process and throughout the study.
  • Coordinate and maintain records for X-ray procedures.
  • Perform ECGs for volunteers/subjects during screening and, if applicable, during the study.
  • Maintain temperature monitoring logs for relevant work areas.
  • Record vital signs of volunteers/subjects.
  • Prepare and label vacutainers and RIA vials.
  • Manage the nurse calling system and maintain related records.
  • Perform cannulation and removal of cannulas for blood sampling as required by the protocol.
  • Administer investigational products.
  • Observe subjects for adverse events and report findings immediately to the duty doctor/investigator.
  • Coordinate with the investigator/duty doctor in managing adverse events.
  • Oversee bio waste disposal.
  • Maintain and check the ICU and ambulance for necessary equipment and emergency medications.
  • Assist the Maintenance department in calibrating ICU-related instruments.
  • Conduct breath alcohol tests and blood glucose testing using a glucometer as per protocol requirements.
  • Prepare and dispense heparin solution.
  • Coordinate with ambulance drivers and hospitals for emergency procedures and communicate study schedules regarding potential adverse events.
  • Provide Hepatitis B vaccinations or other vaccinations as necessary to HPU staff.
  • Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned by the Head of the Human Pharmacology Unit or Head of the Syngene Clinical Development Team.
