This role involves both managing and developing staff while also contributing to business development and project delivery across a range of therapeutic areas.


About This Role:
The Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance and development of a team, ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget. The Manager will work closely with project leadership and functional teams, monitor progress, and ensure that all project documentation is accurate. In addition, the role includes a focus on staff development, performance management, and client interaction to meet both business and individual goals. You will also be involved in business development efforts and provide clinical consultation as needed.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Delivery Management and Oversight:

    • Monitor team performance and interact with project leadership to ensure that project documentation and correspondence are accurate and up-to-date.
    • May serve as a senior-level contributor on a project team, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of project deliverables.
    • Develop action plans to keep projects on track, within budget, and on time by facilitating metrics collection and collaborating with management and leadership teams.
    • Oversee team activities, including resource planning, staff assignments, quality control, and project deliverable efficiency.
    • Coordinate and manage resourcing for the team in collaboration with project team members, ensuring effective resource identification and allocation.
  • Performance and Staff Development:

    • Provide technical support to staff and ensure they have the necessary knowledge to fulfill their responsibilities.
    • Conduct quality checks of deliverables and take appropriate action to address any issues.
    • Focus on recruiting, retaining, and developing a skilled and motivated team to meet and exceed client expectations.
    • Support staff development through training, mentoring, and guidance to help them improve work efficiency and performance.
    • Participate in formal staff reviews, including performance and salary evaluations, in line with corporate timelines.
  • Client Management and Business Development:

    • Participate in client networking, public speaking, and generating business leads as needed.
    • Contribute to project bids and client presentations when required.
    • Coordinate client or account activities within the department or function and take appropriate action based on client feedback.
  • General Operations and Functional Management:

    • Champion Parexel's system and standards improvement initiatives.
    • Maintain productivity and minimize staff turnover, completing routine administrative tasks like timesheets and expense claims.
    • Foster a positive and results-oriented work environment by promoting teamwork and clear communication.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, ICH Guidelines, Good Clinical Practices, and SOPs.
  • General Administration and Role Modeling:

    • Lead by example and serve as a role model for your team.
    • Participate in departmental and functional management meetings, ensuring team adherence to corporate policies.
    • Maintain a working knowledge of relevant clinical and regulatory requirements.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong ability to manage and motivate direct reports.
  • Competent in both local language and written English, with proficiency in oral English preferred.
  • Substantial experience in clinical research or data management, with a deep understanding of clinical trials.

Education:

  • A degree in biological science, pharmacy, or a related health discipline is preferred. Equivalent nursing qualifications or clinical experience are also considered.
