Job Title: Clinical Research Coordinator 2

Position Summary:

Stanford University is hiring a Clinical Research Coordinator 2 to independently manage significant aspects of large-scale studies or all aspects of one or more smaller clinical research projects. This position involves subject recruitment, data management, regulatory compliance, and team leadership.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee recruitment and enrollment goals, and develop participant retention strategies for long-term trials

  • Develop and manage data systems; extract, analyze, and interpret data

  • Create project schedules and lead team meetings

  • Supervise, train, and mentor new staff or students (including potential hiring and performance reviews)

  • Ensure audit and regulatory compliance, and assist with lab procedure reviews

  • Collaborate with principal investigators and sponsors; monitor and report serious adverse events

  • Recommend and implement policy/process improvements

  • Develop study budgets; track milestones and sponsor invoicing

  • Ensure FDA and Institutional Review Board (IRB) compliance, including IND submissions and renewals


Education & Experience (Required):

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical research experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience


Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and database applications

  • Knowledge of research protocols, HIPAA, FDA, IRB regulations, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)

  • Familiarity with medical terminology


Preferred Certifications & Licenses:

  • Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) or Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) certification (preferred)

  • May require a valid California Driver’s License


Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently: standing, walking, bending, squatting, fine grasping

  • Occasionally: sitting, desk/computer tasks, writing, lifting up to 40 lbs

  • Rarely: kneeling, crawling, forceful grasping, lifting over 40 lbs

  • Reasonable accommodations provided per ADA requirements


Working Conditions:

  • Possible exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases

  • May require extended hours, evening shifts, or on-site presence depending on research needs


Compensation:

  • Annual Salary Range: $84,856 – $97,021 (based on experience, internal equity, budget, and market rates)

  • Final salary determined based on scope of the role, qualifications, and other relevant factors
