About the Role:

Join our mission-driven team at Cambia Health Solutions and become a Clinical Pharmacist Consultant in a remote healthcare setting. As a member of our Pharmacy Services team, you will provide expert clinical guidance to optimize medication choices based on efficacy, safety, and affordability. In this role, you will evaluate prior authorization requests, appeals, and retrospective claim reviews while providing valuable clinical support to medical directors, case managers, and other staff.

Your contributions will support the development and execution of clinical initiatives such as formulary management, medication therapy management programs, and quality initiatives—all aimed at creating a person-focused, sustainable healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services for Medication Benefit Management to optimize cost-containment and quality improvement.
  • Deliver evidence-based clinical decision-making for medication selection based on efficacy and safety.
  • Develop and provide educational materials to inform healthcare providers about medication coverage and comparative effectiveness.
  • Analyze healthcare cost information and identify opportunities for cost-effective prescription drug programs.
  • Lead cross-functional projects related to pharmacy benefits to improve safety, quality, and affordability.
  • Support case management by conducting clinical reviews, responding to queries, and addressing medication management opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of clinical acute care/hospital experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted pharmacy license in the state of practice (remote work eligibility).
  • Preferred: Completion of a pharmacy residency or advanced degree in a health-related field.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Clinical Expertise: In-depth clinical pharmacy knowledge, with demonstrated ability to apply therapy skills in a clinical care setting.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear documentation and collaboration.
  • Managed Care Experience: Proven success in managed care systems, medical groups, or hospitals.
  • Healthcare Economics: Strong understanding of healthcare dynamics and pharmaceutical service reimbursement.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with state and federal laws and regulations governing pharmacy and healthcare.
  • Collaboration & Operational Skills: Ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional teams to meet goals and deadlines.

Compensation:
The expected salary for this role is $119,900 - $162,200, depending on experience, education, and performance. A bonus target of 15% is also offered, with the full salary range being $112,000 - $184,000.
