Position Overview

As a Registered Nurse (RN) at UMMC Midtown Campus, you will provide independent care to patients in a specific unit and serve as a clinical resource for colleagues. You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to plan, coordinate, and deliver patient care while helping to improve care models and nursing outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Provide independent care tailored to your unit's specific patient population. Serve as a clinical resource for other nurses and team members.
  • Collaborative Care: Work with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans that address patient and family needs.
  • Clinical Resource: Share expertise and assist in team development and evaluation, particularly in areas like the Relationship-Based Care model.
  • Quality Initiatives: Participate in efforts to improve Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators (NSQI), including handoffs, medication safety, and more.
  • Evidence-Based Practice: Integrate evidence into practice to improve patient outcomes and support nursing excellence.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Must have an active RN license in Maryland or be eligible to practice under Compact state agreements.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, with a solid foundation in clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Education: BSN preferred; however, candidates with an associate's degree in nursing will be considered.
  • Certifications: Current CPR certification is required.
  • Continuing Education: Maintain 10 contact hours of continuing education every two years to stay up-to-date in the field.

Compensation

  • Pay Range: $35.51 - $52.64 per hour
