Job Title: Clinical Data Acquisition & Strategy Manager

Location: Canada, United States (Remote)

Responsibilities:

  • Define and facilitate the participant data journey, including identifying data sources, transport methods, ingestion processes, and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Collaborate with clinical and technical teams to establish participant data requirements and challenges, delivering both short-term and strategic long-term solutions.

  • Act as a core member of the study team providing technical and procedural guidance on data ingestion and data custody.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for nonstandard data ingestion, defining data needs and managing interactions with internal enablement teams and external vendors.

  • Identify participant data sources and develop study data flow maps to outline the clinical data lifecycle.

  • Draft and input technical data specifications for ingestion and data usage.

  • Perform data reconciliation against defined transfer specifications and address discrepancies.

  • Conduct study-level risk assessments for participant data and recommend risk mitigation strategies.

  • Provide setup and technical support for digital health technologies and eSource data while ensuring data integrity.

  • Evaluate and define strategic vendor partnerships for data ingestion and quality, assessing their capabilities and limitations.

  • Partner with data enablement teams to manage ingestion, harmonization, transformation, validation, and automation within the Clinical Data Platform.

  • Contribute to internal business improvements, aligning with modern technology and regulatory standards.

  • Support initiatives including digital protocols, automation, tokenization, data optimization, and workflow enhancements.

  • Ensure adherence to data governance standards for participant data processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in clinical data management and data acquisition, with a preference for candidates with over 7 years of experience.

  • Strong background in clinical datasets including EDC and non-CRF data.

  • Proficiency in handling large and complex datasets ranging from basic research data to clinical trial data.

  • Deep understanding of modern data platforms and technologies such as Big Data, Lakehouse architectures, and modern data ingestion/integration practices.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
