Location: Fully Remote after 2-3 weeks of onsite training (444 NW Elks Dr, Corvallis, OR 97330)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute from anywhere within Oregon as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participate and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic consistent with the Service and Behavioral Standards document.
  • Code services correctly; understand and appropriately use all CPT, ICD-10, and modifiers, following all bundling edits.
  • Ensure documentation supports charges billed, including E/M auditing, procedures, dates of service, use of modifiers, and ICD-10.
  • Process and input billings accurately in the practice management system; ensure correct billing of CPT codes, modifiers, units, fees, and ICD-10 codes using available tools.
  • Provide feedback, research, and answers to coding questions from providers, insurance specialists, patient account representatives, and address denial tasks.
  • Quickly locate Medicare billing rules and policies, applying them correctly in billing Medicare patients.
  • Improve the quality of care through continuing education and self-evaluation; participate in most in-services and department meetings.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new employees.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher).
  • Certification from an advanced coding course.
  • 2+ years of coding experience and/or experience working with medical billing and medical terminology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of setting up insurance lines.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work well with providers and other staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy, fast-paced environment while maintaining quality of work.
  • Ability to navigate through different websites in a remote platform.
