Job Title: Production Line Manager
Location: Sanofi India Limited
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Purpose

As the Production Line Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing all production activities to deliver high-quality products manufactured at Sanofi India. You will ensure optimum use of resources, adhere to GMP/HSE standards, and ensure customer satisfaction through the efficient and timely execution of production activities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Resource & Time Management:

    • Allocate tasks to operators and manpower based on the production plan and ensure the completion of activities within the standard time.
    • Ensure the allocation of necessary accessories and resources to complete activities and maintain discipline among the team.
    • Prioritize activities to ensure a continuous supply to the market (PSC).
  2. Shift Handover & Information Sharing:

    • Communicate effectively with shift supervisors and team members during shift handovers.
    • Share critical product information and manufacturing details to ensure seamless transitions and alignment.
  3. Line Compliance & Quality Standards:

    • Ensure operators follow effective SOPs and work within specified parameters in the BPR (Batch Production Record).
    • Identify and report any quality defects immediately and perform stringent AQL checks as specified.
    • Compile and submit completed batch manufacturing records to the Quality Assurance team.
    • Ensure products are manufactured and stored per requirements and maintain good documentation practices.
  4. Management of SAP Systems:

    • Create Purchase Orders and determine materials based on FIFO in the SAP system.
    • Ensure proper Goods Issue slips for completed batches and manage tertiary packaging materials.
    • Post Finished Goods (FG) in SAP and carry out Technically Complete (TECO) for finished process orders.
  5. Production Planning & Execution:

    • Receive the production plan and execute it efficiently, coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet the plan.
    • Monitor daily activities, plan changeovers, and ensure timely packing to maximize production.
    • Take regular updates from manufacturing executives and adjust activities as necessary.
  6. Packing Change Parts & Inventory:

    • Maintain inventory for packing machine change parts to avoid downtime.
    • Ensure that required parts are available for smooth packing operations.
  7. Process Excellence:

    • Focus on process improvement, cycle time reduction, and optimizing capacity utilization.
    • Update OEE and equipment records and collaborate with Lean Management for accurate data gathering.
  8. Training & Development:

    • Ensure personal training on relevant SOPs before activity execution.
    • Provide training to new joiners and direct reports on GMP/HSE systems and product transfer strategies.
    • Guide subordinates on documentation processes such as validation protocols and BPR.
  9. Adherence to Site HSE Systems:

    • Ensure safe working conditions, continuous improvement of safety standards, and zero risks.
    • Lead departmental safety meetings, address unsafe conditions, and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
    • Conduct daily safety training during the +QDCI meetings.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Experience: 0-3 years in manufacturing line management, with a focus on quality, safety, and operational efficiency.

  • Skills:

    • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
    • Ability to manage manpower effectively.
    • Knowledge of SAP systems for inventory management and production tracking.
    • Strong coordination skills with cross-functional departments.
    • Ability to train and mentor team members.
  • Competencies:

    • HSE Coordinator experience and ability to maintain a safe work environment.
    • Focus on improving multi-skills within operators to enhance team performance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: B. Pharm, M. Pharm (or equivalent relevant qualifications).
