Biostatistician II at Parexel

Position Overview: As a Biostatistician II at Parexel, you will play a vital role in supporting the safety and efficacy of new health treatments through the application of statistical methodologies. Your work will include designing research and analysis strategies, developing statistical analysis plans, and ensuring the integrity of clinical data. You will work within global cross-functional teams to produce high-quality statistical outputs (e.g., tables, listings, and figures) and provide statistical guidance for clinical trials and health studies. About This Role

Job Purpose:
The Biostatistician II is responsible for independently producing and quality controlling derived datasets and statistical outputs. You will also support more advanced statistical tasks under the guidance of senior biostatisticians. Additionally, you will contribute to the preparation of analysis plans, statistical reports, and other critical documents. Your role will involve close interaction with clients and the management of project teams, ensuring all projects are completed on time and within budget.


Key Responsibilities

  • Statistical Analysis and Programming:

    • Produce and/or quality control derived datasets, as well as simple and advanced statistical outputs (tables, listings, figures) using efficient programming techniques.

    • Understand and apply moderately advanced statistical methods in the context of clinical trials.

  • Project Management and Coordination:

    • Lead and coordinate project teams to ensure successful and timely project completion.

    • Serve as the primary statistical contact for clients, addressing statistical and contractual issues.

  • Reporting and Documentation:

    • Assist in the development of analysis plans, statistical reports, and the statistical sections of integrated clinical reports.

    • Produce and review statistical documentation to ensure it meets high-quality standards and aligns with client expectations.

  • Quality Control:

    • Continuously check your work for quality assurance, ensuring first-time accuracy and reliability.

    • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality of deliverables and workflows.

  • Client Interaction and Contribution:

    • Attend client meetings to present and discuss statistical results and analysis concepts.

    • Proactively provide input to clients on statistical methodology and data interpretation.

  • Training and Mentorship:

    • Provide statistical training to internal clients and junior team members, ensuring the continuous development of the team’s skills.


Skills & Experience

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and interpret statistical results to support clinical decisions.

  • Programming Skills: Proficient in statistical software (e.g., SAS, R) for data analysis and output generation.

  • Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, contributing to shared goals.

  • Organizational Skills: Manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently, ensuring timely project completion.

  • Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication, both written and verbal, to interact with clients and team members.


Education and Knowledge

  • Degree: A minimum of a university degree in a relevant scientific or statistical field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Biostatistics, or related).

  • Experience: Previous experience in biostatistics or statistical analysis in clinical trials, with exposure to statistical software and clinical research environments.

  • Advanced Knowledge: Familiarity with moderately advanced statistical methods and techniques applied in clinical trials.
