Position Overview

The Biostatistician II provides advanced biostatistical services to investigators, including analyses, data preparation, and writing of statistical results. This role involves working closely with senior biostatisticians and domain experts, contributing to more complex statistical methods, and delivering key insights to advance pediatric research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with team members to design studies, conduct power calculations, and handle data.
  • Develop statistical analysis plans, including methods, procedures, and data handling rules.
  • Utilize proficient statistical programming skills to clean, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Validate and document methods for clarity and reproducibility.
  • Support grant applications and contribute to academic publications and conference presentations.
  • Recommend improvements to protocols, workflows, or data management based on analysis results.
  • Communicate research methods and results to a range of audiences, including clinicians, scientists, and analysts.
  • Track project activities for reporting and billing purposes.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Master's Degree Preferred
  • Required: At least three years of experience with complex applied statistics and common statistical programming languages (e.g., SAS, STATA, R).
  • Preferred: At least five years of experience with progressively complex statistics and statistical programming.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in statistical programming and methods used in medical and clinical research.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-experts.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent validation and documentation skills.
  • High level of initiative, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in UNIX and/or Windows OS.
