Role Title: Biophysicist (Biomolecular Interaction Analysis)
Role Summary:
We are looking for a skilled biophysicist with expertise in performing biomolecular interaction analyses using Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR). The ideal candidate will also have experience working with membrane and unstructured proteins, as well as knowledge of other biophysical assays. This role involves method optimization, data interpretation, instrument maintenance, and training of colleagues, with an emphasis on compliance and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform biomolecular interaction analyses of candidate small molecules and biomolecules (proteins and RNA) using SPR, including sample preparation, method optimization, data interpretation, and report generation.
  • Experience with membrane proteins and unstructured proteins is a plus.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and oversee equipment operation and maintenance, as well as inventory management.
  • Handle routine calibration, clean-up, service, and repair of instruments.
  • Understand client requirements and support the preparation of proposals and project delivery.
  • Stay updated with the latest technological advancements in the field.
  • Regularly train colleagues and organize in-house workshops.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance standards and client-specific requirements.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of research activities and results.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in biophysics or a related field, with expertise in assays for studying biophysical properties of proteins (e.g., ITC, DSF, FP, MST).
  • Proficient in using Thermal Shift Assays to measure protein stability, identify ligands, and analyze buffer conditions.
  • Good understanding of in-silico analysis of protein-protein interaction domains.
  • Expertise in assay design and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated experience with unstructured proteins and membrane proteins.
  • Knowledge of PROTAC domain-binary, ternary complex, and orthogonal binding assays.
  • Understanding of various immobilization chemistries, such as His-capture and Biotin-capture, and optimization of regeneration conditions.
  • Strong teamwork abilities in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Excellent data analysis, interpretation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently under aggressive deadlines.
  • Strong technical knowledge with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust across teams and stakeholders.
