Position Title: Bacteriology Clinical Lab Technologist
Location: Tampa, FL
Sign-On Bonus: $6,500 (External candidates only)

Labcorp is offering exciting opportunities to join our team as a Bacteriology Clinical Lab Technologist in Tampa, FL. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced, customer-focused, and challenging environment, contributing to our mission of “Improving Health, Improving Lives.”

Work Schedule:

  • Tuesday through Saturday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
  • Some holiday shifts required
  • 10% Shift differential for 2nd Shift

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assess specimen acceptability for testing according to established criteria.
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures in line with departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot lab instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
  • Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
  • Report accurate and timely test results to ensure quality patient care.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Maintain and replenish testing bench supplies.
  • Assist with specimen processing when needed.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow appropriate safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology (or meet local regulatory requirements such as CLIA and State requirements).
  • Florida State Medical Technologist (MT) certification.
  • ASCP, AMT, or ABB certification.
  • Previous clinical laboratory testing experience is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
  • High attention to detail, strong communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to pass a standardized color vision screen.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts based on business needs.
