Position Title: Bacteriology Clinical Lab Technologist
Location: Tampa, FL
Sign-On Bonus: $6,500 (External candidates only)

Labcorp is offering exciting opportunities to join our team as a Bacteriology Clinical Lab Technologist in Tampa, FL. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced, customer-focused, and challenging environment, contributing to our mission of “Improving Health, Improving Lives.”

Work Schedule:

Tuesday through Saturday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
Some holiday shifts required
10% Shift differential for 2nd Shift

Job Responsibilities:

Assess specimen acceptability for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures in line with departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot lab instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to ensure quality patient care.
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
Maintain and replenish testing bench supplies.
Assist with specimen processing when needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and follow appropriate safety protocols.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology (or meet local regulatory requirements such as CLIA and State requirements).
Florida State Medical Technologist (MT) certification.
ASCP, AMT, or ABB certification.
Previous clinical laboratory testing experience is highly preferred.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Proficiency with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
High attention to detail, strong communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to pass a standardized color vision screen.
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts based on business needs.
