Summary of Position:

AMDI is seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist to join its dynamic biotech team. The Associate Scientist will conduct experiments under the supervision of a Senior Scientist, follow written procedures, document results accurately, and report findings promptly. Additional duties include supporting routine lab maintenance and participating in staff meetings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow and perform established experimental design protocols to obtain reproducible and reliable results with supervision.

  • Record and analyze experimental data.

  • Maintain an electronic lab notebook.

  • Communicate results clearly and concisely.

  • Troubleshoot equipment and experimental challenges effectively.

  • Order, track, and monitor lab supplies.

  • Undertake additional projects and/or duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required for Position:

  • Education: BS/BA degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field).

  • Experience: Previous experience in research or clinical laboratory settings.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Excellent organization and record-keeping skills with attention to detail.

  • Strong time and task management skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

  • Proactive mindset with the ability to plan ahead.

  • Flexibility to work longer hours or shifts to complete experiments or projects as needed.

  • Strong desire to learn and develop both soft and technical skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Willingness to travel up to 10% per year.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in molecular biology, virology, or biochemistry.

  • Hands-on experience with PCR, Western blot, and/or ELISA.

  • Experience in tissue culture and/or protein purification.

Work Environment:

  • In-person position in a BSL2 facility and testing laboratory environment.

  • May involve working near bloodborne pathogens.

  • May require working with hazardous materials and/or infectious diseases.

  • Must use personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, protective clothing, gloves, and potentially a respirator.
