Job Title: Associate Scientist, Pharmaceutical Development

What You Will Achieve

As an Associate Scientist at Pfizer, you will be essential in performing qualitative and quantitative analyses of organic, inorganic compounds, or biologics. You will determine chemical and physical properties during chemical syntheses, fermentation, or drug product development processes by verifying their identity, purity, and homogeneity.

You will contribute to critical deadlines, providing technical expertise to assess tasks and make decisions based on your scientific knowledge. Your focus and commitment will directly contribute to advancing Pfizer's mission to bring new medicines to patients around the globe.


How You Will Achieve It

  • Team Collaboration: Build basic team effectiveness skills such as commitment, feedback, and consensus management within your work group.
  • Document Preparation: Prepare and review technical documents such as validation protocols, reports, analytical test procedures, investigation reports, and change controls.
  • Safety Compliance: Complete required training in Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and safety protocols, following appropriate safety practices in the workplace.
  • Experimentation: Conduct experiments for analytical method development/qualification/validation and characterization for pharmaceutical products.
  • Data Integrity: Perform work in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) following GMP/GLP requirements, ensuring the integrity of all data generated.
  • Data Analysis: Independently analyze experimental data and provide conclusions, presenting any problems and proposing solutions during discussions with group members.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in GMP: Hands-on experience in a Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) environment.
  • Laboratory Experience: Experience with laboratory data systems and working knowledge in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in handling analytical instruments.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong documentation skills, high attention to detail, and good organizational skills.
  • Team-Oriented: Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on teamwork.

Nice-to-Have

  • Analytical Knowledge: Ability to operate analytical and physical techniques used for characterizing pharmaceutical substances and products.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Annual Salary Range: $54,700.00 - $91,100.00
  • Bonus: Eligible for Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan (7.5% bonus target)
