Job Purpose:
The Associate Director will support the development of the U.S. patient and loved ones strategy for aficamten for the treatment of obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (oHCM). This role will drive execution of the aficamten launch plan and manage all elements of the U.S. promotional platform for oHCM patients and their loved ones. Additionally, the Associate Director will collaborate across teams to develop adherence/compliance strategies, patient education services, ambassador programs, and support field education initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Development and Execution:

  • Lead execution of key components of the U.S. brand strategy for patients and their loved ones.

  • Manage patient initiation, treatment, and compliance (adherence and persistence) strategies with cross-functional partners.

  • Track and manage metrics to measure the success of patient engagement strategies.

Program Management:

  • Establish and lead a branded patient ambassador program and oversee unbranded ambassador efforts.

  • Collaborate closely with patient support and advocacy teams.

Field Support and Patient Experience:

  • Develop materials to support field execution of patient strategy.

  • Support the comprehensive patient launch plan including HUB services and digital experience initiatives.

  • Launch innovative patient/caregiver marketing campaigns to inspire behavioral change and drive brand growth.

Budget and Analytics:

  • Manage budgets and participate in quarterly business and budget reviews.

  • Partner with market research and analytics to derive customer insights for strategic decision-making.

Compliance and Collaboration:

  • Liaise with Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance to ensure efficient and compliant execution of brand tactics.

  • Partner with advocacy organizations while maintaining brand integrity across all promotional activities.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience, including at least 4 years in U.S. pharmaceutical marketing.

  • U.S. launch experience required; cardiovascular therapeutic category and/or REMS experience preferred.

  • Experience developing patient marketing strategies and executing measurable promotional campaigns.

  • Preferred experience in rare disease markets.

Skills:

  • High-level strategic thinking with an ability to translate insights into action.

  • Proven self-starter with the ability to independently manage projects.

  • Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory pharmaceutical promotion environment.

  • Excellent collaboration skills to build effective internal and external relationships.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay Range:

  • In the U.S., the hiring pay range for fully qualified candidates is $221,000 - $245,000 per year.

  • Final compensation will consider internal equity, geographic location, job-related skills, and experience.
