Job Summary:
Lilly's Business Insights & Analytics (BI&A) team is looking for a dynamic leader for the Global HCP and Health System Analytics sub-function. The Associate Director will manage a team of approximately 40 analytics professionals, responsible for delivering high-quality data-driven insights to support HCP, Health System, and payer business decisions across various Business Units. This leadership role will focus on developing a strong analytics execution model, ensuring high-quality analysis, and supporting business-facing teams with data-driven solutions. The role will also involve driving the team's transition toward a more product-focused approach, enabling scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:

    • Overall responsibility for delivering high-quality, timely analytics, ensuring the team meets evolving business needs.
    • Collaborate with analytics, technology, and business-facing teams to prioritize tasks and ensure smooth project execution.
    • Define and standardize frameworks and processes to optimize resource utilization and efficiency in project delivery.
  • People Leadership:

    • Mentor project leads and individual contributors, helping them define and achieve ambitious goals.
    • Act as a career advisor and work with leadership to identify career opportunities and development pathways for team members.
    • Foster an inclusive community of analytics experts while developing a pipeline of analytics talent and leadership.
  • Technical Leadership:

    • Lead technical teams in designing solutions and overcoming barriers during execution.
    • Leverage experience with pharma datasets such as patient prescription data, activity data, payer data, etc., to support key analytics projects.
    • Guide the team in adopting best practices for data and analytics product development.
    • Stay informed on external perspectives and business needs to expand team capabilities.

Required Skills and Expertise:

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in analytical functions (BI, data analytics, forecasting) supporting Pharma/Lifesciences commercial operations or in consulting.
  • 6+ years of experience managing teams, with a preference for candidates who have managed multiple teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to think strategically and provide insights in an ambiguous business environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of US pharma business operations and an understanding of pharma datasets is essential.
  • Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey advanced analytics concepts to various business stakeholders.
  • Excellent prioritization and attention to detail.
  • High level of motivation and a creative problem-solving approach to challenging situations.

Education:

  • A quantitative background in engineering, statistics, mathematics, or related fields is preferred.
  • An MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
