Job Summary:
Abbott's Medical Devices division in Santa Clara, CA, seeks an Associate Director, Global Data Science & Analytics to oversee activities related to electrophysiology and cardiac rhythm management. This on-site role involves leading data analytics projects that generate real-world evidence and insights into medical device technology, disease states, and healthcare economics.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies to reduce the burden of clinical trials through real-world data.
  • Analyze healthcare data, including electronic health records, remote device monitoring, and insurance claims.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for real-world evidence studies.
  • Collaborate with leaders across clinical affairs, regulatory, medical affairs, and marketing.
  • Communicate with regulatory agencies and payer organizations.
  • Build relationships with key opinion leaders in healthcare.
  • Oversee conference presentations, scientific manuscripts, and real-world evidence protocols.
  • Support digital health and data science initiatives.
  • Manage timelines and deliverables for multiple projects.
  • Lead and mentor a team of scientists and analysts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Ph.D. with 10+ years of experience or MS with 15+ years of experience in biomedical engineering, epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, or related fields.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years in clinical research, biomedical research, health economics, outcomes research, or data science.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, project management, and decision-making abilities.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in statistical methods, R, SAS, Python, SQL; experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Databricks) is a plus.
  • Domain Knowledge: Experience in electrophysiology or cardiac rhythm management medical devices is beneficial.
