The Statistical Research and Innovation (SRI) Role at Pfizer is a science-based position focusing on providing statistical consultancy and technical support for clinical and non-clinical projects. This role involves collaboration with various teams to assist with complex study designs, data analysis, and the development of specialized software, as well as contributing to innovative methodologies in drug development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Statistical Advice & Consultation:

    • Provide statistical support on complex issues in Pfizer projects.
    • Collaborate with Study Statisticians, Clinical teams, Development Operations, PharmSci, Regulatory, and Safety.
    • Advise on key go/no decisions, regulatory strategies, and product defense.
  2. Development of Methodologies:

    • Implement and promote methodologies based on advanced statistical research.
    • Contribute to novel study designs, data analyses, and the development of software tools.
    • Drive innovation by advancing statistical/data science methodology and trial designs.
  3. Collaborative Work:

    • Develop effective internal collaborations with non-statistical researchers.
    • Influence Pfizer's external presence through collaborations with academic, government, and industry statisticians.
    • Stay updated with research on statistical methodologies to meet business needs.
  4. Mentorship & Knowledge Dissemination:

    • Mentor new hires and junior statisticians.
    • Disseminate statistical knowledge, new methodologies, and regulatory guidelines to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Support external professional activities such as publications and presentations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, or equivalent postgraduate training.
  • Experience: At least 5 years in drug development (candidates with less experience but strong research credentials are also considered).
  • Skills:
    • Expertise in statistical computing (R, SAS).
    • Broad understanding of statistical theory and its application.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with peers and senior leadership.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $131,200 to $218,600 annually, with a 17.5% bonus target.
