Associate Chemist - LC/MS Data Review/Operator
Location: Burlington, NC
Shift: 2nd Shift, Tuesday-Saturday, 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM (eligible for 10% shift differential)

Labcorp is seeking an experienced Associate Chemist to join our Toxicology Department in Burlington, NC. This position offers a challenging and fast-paced environment with exposure to a variety of analytical instrumentation, including GC, HPLC, ICP/MS, and LC/MS/MS. Key Responsibilities:

Review and Certify LC/MS Data: Utilize Analyst and Ascent software to review and certify LC/MS data, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
Calibration & Quality Control: Verify calibration, quality controls, and patient data; upload results into the system.
Minor Troubleshooting and Instrument Prep: Perform minor troubleshooting and routine maintenance on LC/MS systems to ensure optimal performance.
Conduct Analytical Testing: Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses on organic and inorganic samples.
Technical Decision Making: Evaluate raw and final data, identify errors, and make decisions to correct or resolve issues.
Training and Mentorship: Assist with training and orienting new staff on procedures and techniques.
Preventive Maintenance: Document and perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures to maintain equipment and ensure data reliability.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or a related science.
Experience: At least 2+ years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
Skills:
- Knowledge of chromatographic data review (preferred but not required).
- Strong technical proficiency and understanding of laboratory functions.
- Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems.
- High attention to detail, strong communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must pass a standardized color vision screen.
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as needed.
