Job Opportunity: Functional Leadership Role at Syneos Health


Job Summary

This leadership role provides direction, training, and quality oversight to FSP 360 functional teams, ensuring timely project delivery and regulatory compliance. The role involves building customer relationships, optimizing operational practices, and acting as a subject matter expert (SME) for functional or regional knowledge. The position may also serve as a regional operational lead.


Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Delivery and Success

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with customers, addressing escalations and feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with KPIs, quality metrics, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage team headcount, workloads, and resource availability to meet project needs.
  • Conduct oversight visits for Clinical Research Associates and ensure adherence to training and SOPs.
  • Oversee system updates and compliance with customer and internal processes.

2. Business Impact

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive customer growth strategies and support new project awards during proposals and bid defenses.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned to optimize FSP 360 operations.
  • Support BU revenue targets and assess program delivery and staffing plans.
  • Represent the company at professional meetings or seminars.

3. People Leadership

  • Actively manage team performance, professional development, and engagement.
  • Provide administrative oversight (e.g., HR processes, timecards, expenses).
  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion by modeling inclusive behaviors and addressing bias.
  • Encourage team retention and maintain expected turnover levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, nursing, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive clinical research experience in CRO, pharmaceutical, or biotech industries, including leadership roles.
  • Deep understanding of GCP/ICH guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and knowledge of functional workflows.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
