Category or Function Introduction:
The Science & Technology Home Care team develops next-generation powders, bars, liquids, and capsules with superior performance, value, and sustainable technology. This team explores upstream process and product technologies, creating digital models and analytical methodologies to drive competitive advantage.

Job Purpose:
This role requires expertise in product engineering, manufacturing technology, and material interactions in the home care sector. Key areas include product microstructure, rheology, and structure-property relationships. Engineers in this role act as integrators, combining consumer and business needs into effective technical solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • 10+ years of experience in materials and polymers (FMCG, Pharma, or related industries).
  • Expertise in unit operations, processing, and product engineering.
  • Strong analytical skills, including physio-chemical characterization.
  • Work with international and interdisciplinary teams (Unilever R&D, academics, suppliers) to develop next-generation solid formats.
  • Develop a deep understanding of materials, processes, and product structuring to meet consumer needs.
  • Generate new product ideas and improvements for existing products.
  • Hands-on experience with pilot plant and laboratory scale-up activities, ensuring safe and disciplined operations.
  • Lead workstreams and projects within the organization.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of material science, thermodynamics, and equipment principles.
  • Proficiency in computer-based statistical analysis (DoE, data analytics).
  • Strong project management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in product/process development and technology transfer.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Essential: ME/MTech in Materials/Chemical Engineering with a specialization in Polymer Science from a reputed institute.
