Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager will oversee and manage projects, specifically related to Biologics/Biosimilars. This role requires effective project planning, risk management, and cross-functional team coordination. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for budget, scope, and timeline management, ensuring effective stakeholder communication, change management, and reporting. Strong leadership skills are essential for managing multiple workstreams and teams to drive successful project delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning & Timeline Management:

    • Prepare project plans, including Gantt charts, and track timelines to ensure timely project delivery.
    • Identify project issues early and facilitate resolution.
    • Work on risk mitigation plans and ensure timely escalations when necessary.
  2. Workstream & Stakeholder Management:

    • Manage multiple workstreams to ensure milestone delivery and dependencies are met.
    • Manage and communicate effectively with stakeholders, both internal teams and external clients.
  3. Budget, Scope & Timeline Ownership:

    • Own the project’s budget, scope, and timeline.
    • Monitor and analyze project plans with time and cost variance analysis.
  4. Communication & Documentation:

    • Ensure effective communication within teams, including meetings, minutes, action items, and follow-ups.
    • Manage change management processes and facilitate the necessary approvals for project changes.
    • Coordinate with Finance and Regulatory teams for the submission of required documentation.
  5. Reporting & Progress Tracking:

    • Prepare dashboards and progress reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
    • Maintain key learning repositories and implement improvements in new projects.
  6. Team Leadership & Training:

    • Foster teamwork and resolve conflicts to drive successful project delivery.
    • Provide strong leadership to the project team and manage relationships to support project objectives.
    • Train interns and project coordinators to enhance team capabilities.
  7. Process Improvement & Best Practices:

    • Assist in the establishment of Project Management (PM) best practices, tools, and systems to improve organizational efficiency.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Educational Qualification:

    • M.E/M.Tech/MS, M.Pharm, M.Sc in relevant fields.
  • Experience:

    • 7-12 years of experience in project management, preferably in Biologics/Biosimilars or related fields.
  • Core Skills:

    • Strong background in managing and delivering complex projects, particularly related to Biologics/Biosimilars.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken English.
    • Proficiency in SAP operation and other Project Management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Excel, and MS Office applications).
  • Leadership & Team Skills:

    • Ability to foster teamwork and resolve conflicts to drive project success.
    • Strong team leadership capabilities to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Additional Skills:

    • Proficiency in risk management and project milestone tracking.
    • Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and scope effectively.
    • Experience in change management processes and stakeholder management.
    • Strong training and mentoring abilities for junior staff.
