Job Title: Medical Affairs Manager (Key Opinion Leader Engagement)

Role Summary

The Medical Affairs Manager will be responsible for providing scientific expertise and building relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to advance medical practice and research. This will contribute to the enhancement of Pfizer’s image within the scientific community. The role involves supporting strategic initiatives, collaborating with medical affairs teams, and contributing to the understanding of diseases, clinical research, and treatment practices.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic/Policy Contributions

Provide tactical and strategic inputs, with support from a mentor or line manager, to the Product Management team to promote assigned products ethically.
Ensure the scientific, technical, and ethical soundness of all policies and activities.

Key Opinion Leader (KOL) & Key Organization Engagement

Work with medical affairs colleagues to support medical activities related to brand strategies for specific products and therapeutic areas.
Develop and customize presentations as needed for specific KOLs or regional requests.
Identify, establish, and maintain relationships with KOLs and organizations in the therapeutic area to support clinical and research activities.
Offer research projects, continuing medical education programs, and clinical grants to KOLs and organizations based on their needs.
Participate in and facilitate promotional/educational interactions with healthcare professionals (HCPs), such as customer launch meetings, advisory boards, CME programs, and scientific symposia.
Focus on advancing KOLs through stages of engagement: Initiate, Develop, Partner, Impact (Stage I - IV).

Clinical Research Support

Identify new investigators and institutions to expand the clinical research base.
Provide medical support for local studies, including visiting study sites when required.
Assist in data interpretation, writing final reports, and assisting in publication planning for locally sponsored studies.
Assist in the execution of an Information Dissemination Plan/Program.

Medical Initiatives

Provide medical input for KOL meetings, advisory boards, and Customer Launch Meetings (CLMs).
Conduct and facilitate roundtable meetings/group discussions with the medical advisor.
Serve as a speaker/moderator for Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs, particularly for new products or therapy areas.

Medical Information

Provide accurate, timely, and balanced medical information to both internal (sales staff) and external (HCPs) stakeholders, following relevant SOPs and policies.

Required Skills and Experience

Scientific Expertise: In-depth understanding of medical affairs, product promotion, clinical research, and KOL engagement.
KOL Management: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the scientific community.
Communication: Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with KOLs, healthcare professionals, and internal teams.
Medical Research and Education: Experience in supporting clinical research, publications, and CME programs.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions to achieve business objectives.
