MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

Job Purpose

  • Provide scientific expertise, build knowledge, and develop activity-based relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to advance medical practice and research for the benefit of society, enhancing Pfizer’s image in the scientific community.

  • Actively contribute to the organization/business by ensuring the scientific, technical, and ethical soundness of all policies, statements, and endeavors.

  • Provide high-quality and timely service in areas of interactions with healthcare professionals, Continuing Medical Education (CME), and sales force training.

  • Serve as a critical interface with scientific leaders to contribute to understanding diseases, research, and scientific trends, clinical practice guidelines, and treatment patterns in areas relevant to Pfizer’s business.

Business (Commercial) Support

  • Facilitate commercial team access to KOLs where appropriate.

  • Support and lead commercial projects that align with therapeutic area requirements, involving KOLs in the region.

  • Provide scientific and medical support to institutional sales initiatives.

  • Participate in and provide medical inputs for key opinion leader meetings, advisory boards, and Customer Launch Meetings (CLMs).

  • Conduct/facilitate roundtable meetings/group discussions in coordination with the concerned medical advisor for assigned therapy area/product.

  • Conduct CMEs as a speaker/moderator for the assigned therapy area as per requirement.

Medical Information

  • Provide accurate, timely, and balanced medical information to internal (sales staff) and external (HCPs) customers, adhering to relevant SOPs/policies.

Sales Force Training

  • Provide medical training to new sales staff on basic sciences, assigned therapy areas, and assigned products.

  • Provide refresher training to sales staff through ongoing initiatives.

  • Assist in pre-launch and launch training for new products.

Technology

  • Liaise with the Business Technology functions in areas such as databases, websites, interactive systems, product and health information, etc.

  • Identify technology solutions for enabling better information availability.

People

  • Demonstrate all Pfizer values and leader behaviors, with special focus on integrity, performance, and teamwork.

  • Work harmoniously with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Enhance self-development through on-the-job training and mentoring, creating and tracking progress on an Individual Development Plan.


REQUIRED SKILL SET

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Sciences/Pharmacy.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in a medical affairs role.

Core Competencies

  • Strong scientific background, with knowledge of clinical practice guidelines, treatment patterns, and the latest research trends.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with KOLs and healthcare professionals.

  • Ability to provide medical and scientific support to commercial teams and sales initiatives.

  • Ability to facilitate and conduct medical training for sales teams.
