Job Description:

The Senior Aqua Therapy Physiotherapist will act as a crucial link between the team leader, junior physiotherapists, and patients, ensuring the delivery of high-quality aquatic therapy services. This role involves supervising junior staff, developing clinical protocols, and ensuring patients receive goal-based care for better recovery outcomes. Additionally, the position entails active participation in clinical decision-making and contributing to the development of clinical expertise through research.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Coordination:

    • Serve as a connecting link between the team leader, junior physiotherapists, and patients, ensuring smooth communication and care delivery.
  2. Patient Monitoring and Care:

    • Oversee the care provided to patients, including conducting necessary consultations (in-person, teleconsults, and home-based care).
    • Monitor patient progress and ensure that therapy is tailored to each patient's needs.
  3. Staff Leadership:

    • Lead, motivate, and influence junior physiotherapists to enhance their performance and contribute to team success.
    • Supervise and guide junior staff, providing them with training and development opportunities.
  4. Clinical Protocol Development:

    • Develop and implement protocols for junior physiotherapists to follow, ensuring consistency and quality in patient care.
    • Maintain accurate patient records, progress reports, and assessments.
  5. Goal-Based Therapy:

    • Collaborate in the setting of rehabilitation goals for patients and monitor their progress at regular intervals.
    • Provide goal-based care to facilitate optimal recovery outcomes for patients.
  6. Clinical Decision-Making:

    • Be involved in clinical decision-making, making adjustments to treatment plans based on patient progress and specific needs.
  7. Research and Development:

    • Contribute to the development of clinical expertise in aqua therapy and translate it into research.
    • Actively participate in publishing research articles to advance the field of aquatic therapy.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • BPT/MPT/BOT with Aquatic Therapy certification (Mandatory)
  • Experience:

    • At least 1 year of experience working in an Aqua Therapy setup (Mandatory)
  • Skills:

    • Strong leadership, motivational, and supervisory skills
    • Ability to collaborate with team members and patients for goal-based therapy outcomes
    • Proficiency in clinical decision-making, therapy protocols, and research publication

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to demonstrate therapy techniques and work closely with patients in aquatic therapy settings.

Work Environment:

  • Clinical aqua therapy setup, including patient care areas in water-based therapy environments.
