Role Overview:
The Analytical Chemist will be responsible for the development and validation of analytical methods using techniques like HPLC, GC, UV, IC, and more. This role also includes testing finished products, performing method transfers, and ensuring the proper handling and analysis of samples in a variety of formats, including solid oral dosages and stability samples.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Method Development & Validation: Develop and validate analytical methods for finished products and APIs using techniques such as HPLC, GC, IC, UV, and Dissolution.
  • Finished Product Testing: Perform analysis of solid oral dosage forms including dissolution, assay, content uniformity, and related substances.
  • Sample Analysis: Analyze in-process, finished product, pre-formulation study samples, and stability samples received from the Formulation department.
  • Method Transfer: Carry out analytical method transfer activities to QC teams in Goa.
  • Instrument Troubleshooting & Calibration: Troubleshoot any analytical instrument difficulties and maintain calibration and qualification records for instruments, including HPLC, GC, and UV systems.
  • Literature Search & Method Development: Conduct literature searches to support the development of new analytical methods and techniques.
  • EHS Compliance: Ensure adherence to safe working practices and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines during all activities.
  • Documentation & Quality Systems: Ensure that all activities are executed in line with good laboratory practices (GLP) and documented per quality system requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: M.Sc., M.Pharm., or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
  • Experience: 4-8 years of relevant experience in analytical chemistry and method development, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Skills:
    • Expertise in analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV, and Ion Chromatography.
    • Strong understanding of method development, validation, and transfer processes.
    • Knowledge of ICH guidelines, forced degradation studies, and impurity profiling.
    • Understanding of regulatory requirements for markets such as the US, EU, and Canada.
    • Familiarity with handling potent compounds/molecules.
