Role Overview:
The Analytical Chemist plays a vital role in developing and validating analytical methods, particularly HPLC for chiral and achiral compounds. This position also involves the identification and characterization of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), intermediates, and impurities through various spectroscopy techniques, ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HPLC Method Development: Expertise in developing and optimizing HPLC methods for both chiral and achiral compounds.
  • Structure Elucidation & Characterization: Use spectroscopy techniques such as FT-IR, UV, and NMR for identifying and characterizing APIs, impurities, and intermediates.
  • Instrument Proficiency: Hands-on experience with a variety of analytical instruments, including HPLC, FT-IR, UV spectrophotometers, Coulometers, Karl Fischer titrators, and Halogen Moisture Analyzers.
  • Organic Chemistry & Spectroscopy: Strong foundation in organic chemistry and its application in pharmaceutical analysis, especially in method development.
  • Process Development & Technology Transfer: Involvement in the development and transfer of processes to ensure scalability and compliance with industry standards.
  • Compliance & Pharmaceutical Guidelines: Ensure all analytical procedures are in line with current pharmaceutical regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: M.Sc. in Chemistry or related field.
  • Experience: 4 to 6 years of experience in analytical chemistry, specifically in HPLC method development, spectroscopy, and process development in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in HPLC and other analytical techniques.
    • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical quality control and regulatory standards.
    • Ability to develop and transfer analytical methods.
    • Knowledge of organic chemistry and spectroscopy.
