Job Title: Medical Information Specialist


Job Summary:

The Medical Information Specialist supports Apotex's global products by providing accurate, unbiased, and timely medical information to healthcare professionals, sales representatives, and other stakeholders. This role is integral in ensuring the safe and effective use of Apotex products through professional, scientifically sound communication.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Medical Inquiry Support:

    • Respond to medical inquiries from healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders verbally and in writing.

    • Research, interpret, and provide accurate and balanced medical information.

  • Documentation & Content Creation:

    • Create and revise medical information documents such as response documents, recall Q&As, and bulletins.

    • Update and maintain product databases and files.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with SOPs for adverse event and quality complaint reporting.

    • Prepare educational materials related to Risk Minimization Measures.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Participate in departmental and cross-functional teams to support initiatives and business goals.

    • Maintain awareness of current therapeutic trends and industry regulations.

  • Special Projects:

    • Contribute to after-hours coverage and special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Pharmacy, or a health-related discipline.

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy preferred.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally in Clinical, Pharmacovigilance, Medical Affairs, or Regulatory roles.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

  • Familiarity with Arisg Safety Database, MedDRA, and Argus.

  • Knowledge of literature search tools like Embase and MLM database.
