Compensation:

  • Anticipated Salary Range: $121,500 - $198,000 (Actual compensation will depend on education, experience, skills, and geographic location).

Role Overview:
This technical scientific position within the Peptide Therapeutics Team in Biotechnology Discovery Research involves identifying, optimizing, and advancing biotherapeutic peptides and conjugates from concept to clinical development. The candidate will play a critical role in peptide design, SAR, synthesis, conjugation, and characterization, driving projects forward through collaboration across various departments.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

  • Lead research efforts from concept through optimization, identifying candidate therapeutic peptides and evaluating biopharmaceutical properties using biochemical and biophysical techniques.

  • Implement rational SAR strategies to improve the pharmaceutical properties of peptide leads and conjugates.

  • Contribute to resolving issues related to peptide engineering, formulation, and biological aspects.

  • Lead or co-lead multidisciplinary teams to advance the optimization of therapeutic molecules.

  • Communicate research findings and project plans effectively to management and governance committees.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in chemical or biological sciences with a focus on peptide chemistry or synthetic organic chemistry.

  • 0-5 years of experience in a biotechnology/pharmaceutical company or academia.

Additional Preferences:

  • Proven leadership in peptide engineering with a track record of advancing biotherapeutics.

  • Experience in multi-molecular conjugation chemistry and analytical methods to characterize peptides, proteins, and conjugates.

  • Technical expertise in macrocyclic peptides, screening technologies (OBOC, solution-phase, AS/MS, mRNA display), and computational/structural efforts.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Understanding of peptide formulation requirements and pharmaceutical developability assessments.
